DISA asks small firms for feedback on IT, engineering support

The Defense Information System Agency is checking the market for small businesses that are capable of providing IT software and hardware support for its National Gateway Center (NGC).

DISA’s Infrastructure Directorate is looking for small-business support in the areas of lifecycle software maintenance, hardware maintenance, systems engineering, logistical support, and the operational and security technical support necessary to maintain the operational NGC backbone Command and Control messaging systems.

DISA noted in its sources sought notice that the responses will influence the role that small businesses may have in any subsequent contracts. In addition to qualifications, officials want companies to explain how they envision using their company’s expertise to meet the requirements as well as plans for joint ventures or partnering with other companies.

The NGC provides a standard interface to other government agencies, allies, defense contractors, and other approved sources outside of the Defense Messaging System community.

DISA released the sources sought notice Oct. 21. Responses are due by Nov. 4.
