Cyber Command plans for $460m IT contract

The U.S. Cyber Command issued a draft solicitation for a five-year, $460 million contract to support its headquarters with management and mission support services.

The multiple-award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract has a broad scope of services. The work will support the command's mission to unify cyberspace resources, centralize cyberspace operations, improve the Defense Department’s communications networks to deal with threats, and support other military department with cyberspace-related missions.

The contract’s task orders will help the command adapt to new and emerging technologies, which will evolve over the life of the contract.

The winning prime contractors will compete for task orders in areas that include:

• Business area support and project management
• Cyberspace operations
• Cyberspace planning
• All-source intelligence
• Capability management and development
• Cyberspace training and exercises
• IT/communications
• Strategy/policy/doctrine development and campaign assessments
• Engagement activities
• Security

In addition, work will include research and development, test, and evaluation services.

The contractors will provide all management, supervision, labor, facilities, and materials necessary to perform on a task-order basis.

Cyber Command issued the draft solicitation Sept. 30 for industry to review and ask questions.
