Army plans for $48M software engineering, sustainment services

The Army Communications Electronic Command issued a presolicitation for an upcoming three-year task order for software engineering and sustainment services that could be worth $48 million.
The task order will include, among other services, all aspects of post-development software support (PPSS) and post-production software support (PDSS) for the Army and other Defense Department programs and systems.
The work will support PPSS and PDSS efforts for systems, programs, and projects within the Distributed Common Ground System-Army Sustainment Domain. Work will also include engineering, logistics and business operations services.
The Army CEC’s Software Engineering Center needs to produce software that supports its intended users, is consistent and reproducible, and is stable and cost-effective.
The task order’s terms and conditions are based on the Software and Systems Engineering Services-Next Generation (SSES-NexGen) multiple-award indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract. Only the five companies that proposed on the original solicitation will be able to submit proposals for task orders. The Army anticipates making an award in late November.
The Army expects the value of the task order to be as much as $48 million.
The work will be done at Fort Huachuca in Arizona.
Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems Inc. is the incumbent contractor.
The Army released the presolicitation Sept. 30. Responses are due by Oct. 14.
