CA Technologies acquires identity management firm

CA Technologies has added identity management solutions to its portfolio by acquiring Xceedium Inc.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition extends CA Technologies’ security portfolio, giving customers a comprehensive solution for controlling and protecting information technology assets from external attacks or internal mistakes, CA Technologies said in a release.

Xceedium’s solution, called Xsuite, which a centralized point of authentication for administrators, brokering the release of credentials for shared administrative accounts without exposing them to risks, the company said.

The acquisition is expected to close within this quarter.
