Blue Coat Systems acquires enterprse cloud protection solutions firm

Blue Coat Systems has picked up enterprise cloud protection solutions through its acquisition of Perspecsys.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will add to Blue Coat’s enterprise security capabilities, making the company a force in the Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) market, the company said in a release.

The acquisition was made as an effort to move further into the CASB market, which is predict to be a place of growth in the next five years, said Blue Coat president and chief operating officer Mike Fey in a release.

The acquisition will allow Blue Coat to deliver a solution for protecting data and enhance security for cloud applications and services. It also gives Blue Coat another GSA schedule to sell through.
