Harris to maintain corporate headquarters location

Harris Corp. will maintain its corporate headquarters in Melbourne, Fla., and will also base two newly formed segments in Florida following the company’s acquisition of Exelis.

The company has been headquartered in Florida since 1978. Today, Harris has about 6,000 employees in Florida.

Harris will be basing its Electronic Systems and Space and Intelligence Systems segments in Palm Bay, Fla. Both businesses combine operations from both Harris and Exelis, the company said in a release.
