The Chertoff Group hires principal within Security Services practice

The Chertoff Group has named Dr. Jerome Hauer principal within the company’s Security Services practice.

The practice helping clients establish and execute effective risk management strategies that can anticipate threats, reduce vulnerabilities and execute plans and procedures designed to support business continuity and personal safety, the company said in a release.

Before joining The Chertoff Group, Hauer served as commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the State of New York. He has also served as Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness at the Health and Human Services Department.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and was awarded a Ph.D. from Cranfield University.
