DHS plans for new Critical Infrastructure, Resilience COE

The Homeland Security Department’s Science and Technology Directorate announced plans for a new DHS Critical Infrastructure and Resilience Center of Excellence cooperative agreement.

DHS officials intend to full integrate the new center into the department’s COE network and use the overarching network’s resources to develop mission-critical research, education, and technology transition programs.

DHS’s COEs are university consortia that work alongside DHS to help with research on new science and technology and also educate the next generation of homeland security technical experts.

For the funding opportunity announcement, DHS will partner with public and state-controlled institutions of higher education and private institutions of higher education.

The center’s lead institution will fund partnering organizations through sub-awards. It will also partner with organizations in various sectors, such as industries, international organizations, and public institutions to develop and implement technologies and solutions.

DHS released the presolicitation June 29. Responses are due Sept. 23.
