Northrop Grumman wins $81M to modernize air operations centers

Northrop Grumman has won a $81 million contract to provide the Air Force with the engineering and manufacturing development phase of the air operations center weapon system modernization program.

Northrop Grumman has won a $81 million contract to provide the Air Force with the engineering and manufacturing development phase of the air operations center weapon system modernization program.

During this phase, Northrop Grumman will complete detailed design, formal testing and fielding of the modernized system to air operations centers.

The centers provide command and control capabilities as well as cyberspace operations, according to the Air Force.

Northrop will apply an open systems approach and integrate cybersecurity into the centers, Northrop said in a release.

The company will develop a secure, streamlined computing environment for legacy and future applications.
