7 win $80M boost to Army rapid response contract

The Army Research Lab has incrased the ceiling on a multiple-award contract used to support a rapid response activities by special operations, intelligence and other military units.
Seven companies received an $80 million increase to the ceiling of a multiple-award contract they hold with the Army Research Lab to support the military’s rapid response capabilities.
The increase raises the ceiling of the contract from $400 million to $480 million.
The companies are:
- Battelle Memorial Institute
- Booz Allen Hamilton
- Exelis
- Leidos
- Northrop Grumman
- Technical and Project Engineering LLC
- Wintec Arrowmaker Inc.
Technical and Project Engineering and Wintec Arrowmaker are small businesses.
According to a description of the contract on TAPE’s website, the contract supports the Army Research Labs customers such as special operations, intelligence and other units with rapid response missions.
The contractors provide services such as studies, technical investigations, research and development, experimentation and acquisition and logistics support. Specific work areas include support for expeditionary warfare, irregular warfare, stabilization and reconstruction and counter-terrorism.
The contractors are also supporting work in areas such as systems integration and human systems interface, energy generation and storage, secure communications, IT, robotics, sensors, situational awareness and force protection.
