Aerospace Corp. wins $788M contract to support space security community

The Aerospace Corp. has won a $788 million sole source contract with the U.S. Air Force to provide lifecycle systems engineering and integration for the National Security Space Community.

The Aerospace Corp. has won a $788 million sole source contract with the U.S. Air Force to provide lifecycle systems engineering and integration for the National Security Space Community.

Under the contract, the company will provide planning, systems definition and technical specification support.

Aerospace Corp. will also analyze user needs and provide interoperability, manufacturing and quality control services, according to the Defense Department.

Work will be performed at Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2014.

This contract was originally awarded on Oct. 1, but due to the government shutdown, it was not announced until today.
