HHS floats small biz contract for risk analysis, infrastructure protection

The Health and Human Services Department is developing a small business contract for critical infrastructure risk analysis and mission support.

The request for information is looking for technical and business information to identify potential small businesses with the skills needed to bid on the contract and perform the work.

The RFI is meant to determine an appropriate acquisition strategy, and whether a small business set-aside is possible.

The notice also fits into the need to protect the United States’ critical infrastructure, which is essential to national security, health, safety and economic vitality, from all hazardous scenarios, according to the RFI.

A presidential directive addresses this need, mandating risk management programs like the National Infrastructure Protection Plan, or NIPP, which provides an overall architecture for safeguarding the U.S. infrastructure.

This RFI is related to the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, an effort created by the HHS Department’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response.
