GDIT wins UK cloud certification

General Dynamics Information Technology has been placed onto the United Kingdom Government Procurement Service's G-Cloud iii framework agreement, which allows public-sector organizations to provide information and communication technology cloud services.

"G-Cloud is an important part of the government's strategy to achieve its target to put half of all new public sector IT spending on public cloud services by 2015," said Stephen Meyler, managing director of General Dynamics Information Technology's United Kingdom division.

Under the agreement, General Dynamics can supply four different categories of cloud services to public sector organizations within the United Kingdom, the company said.

Offerings include system lifecycle services, including next-generation development and integration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, email-as-a-service, cybersecurity and learning services, the company said.
