GD C4 Systems wins $16M contract to replace radars

General Dynamics C4 Systems has won a $16 million contract modification to develop a new radar system for the U.S. Army’s Range Radar Replacement Program.

The High/Medium Power Close-in Radar system will acquire information about the launch and early stages of flight for munitions and other low-flying objects, the company said in a release.

This will provide fidelity when tracking such targets at a range of 37 miles or more.

The company also released a list of its teammates on the contract:

• STAR Dynamics
• Georgia Tech Research Institute of Atlanta
• EO Imaging

Work will be performed in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Kilgore, Longview and Richardson, Texas; State College, Pa.; Hilliard, Ohio; Reston, Va.; Fort Walton Beach and Melbourne, Fla.; and Atlanta., the company said.
