Accenture wins $24.4M modernization contract

The National Science Foundation has tapped Accenture Federal for help with modernizing its financial accounting system.

Accenture Federal Services has won a $24.4 million contract to modernize the U.S. National Science Foundation’s financial accounting system.

The new system will be fully integrated, based on commercial-off-the-shelf software, and will be hosted in a shared service environment, the company said.

The new financial system will also be cloud-based, utilize the company’s Federal Financials as a Service offering and its financial systems shared service center, Accenture said.

“By improving NSF’s efficiency and effectiveness, Accenture will be helping the agency deliver on its mission of promoting scientific research nationwide,” said Ed Meehan, who leads Accenture’s work with civilian agencies.
