SAIC win keeps strategy focused on health records

SAIC's Canadian business wins electronic health records work in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Science Applications International Corp.'s Canada business has won a $16 million task order contract for electronic health records, the company said.

Health care is an important market for SAIC; earlier this month, the company acquired maxIT Healthcare Holdings Inc., one of the largest private independent health care IT consulting companies in North America.

Under this contract, awarded by eHealth Saskatchewan, SAIC will provide implementation and maintenance technology services and applications for the Saskatchewan electronic health record system.

eHealth Saskatchewan leads planning and strategy of the electronic health record system in the province of Saskatchewan. The company also coordinates, operates and maintains selected information technology systems for health care delivery organizations across the province.

Work will be performed over a three-year period in Regina, Saskatchewan.
