CGI completes $2.7B Logica deal

CGI Group has closed its $2.7 billion acquisition of Logica plc, a British company that provides a variety of high-end IT and consulting services.

The acquisition builds CGI’s commercial business in areas such as being able to deliver more services globally. It also expands CGI’s intellectual property.

The deal brings CGI’s total revenue to $10.4 billion annually.

As part of the transaction closing, CGI announced a new global operations organization, with seven company presidents representing different regions. George Schindler, president of U.S. operations for CGI, was named to the new group.

Each member reports to Michael Roach, president and CEO.

This is CGI's first acquisition since its $1 billion deal for Stanley Associates in 2010.
