Former BAE exec will lead IntegenX’s new local office
Area facility will provide strategic base for Calif. company to engage with government agencies and regional organizations.
IntegenX Inc., a Pleasanton, Calif., developer of rapid human DNA identification technology, is opening a Washington, D.C.-area office to support the company’s work with federal agencies.
It will be managed by Dr. Joseph DiZinno, who has been appointed senior director of federal programs, according to a June 18 company announcement.
The D.C. office will provide a strategic base of operations to engage with the many U.S. government agencies and organizations based in the region, said President and CEO Stevan Jovanovich in the announcement.
Dr. DiZinno joins IntegenX from BAE Systems Inc., in Washington, D.C., where he was technical director of homeland security and law enforcement, the announcement said.
Prior to BAE, he spent 22 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, starting as a special agent and retiring in 2008 as director of the FBI Laboratory.
As lab director he oversaw all case-working and response units related to domestic and international criminal and terrorist cases with a team of 550 professionals providing forensic examinations, technical support, expert witness testimony, and training to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
He currently also serves as an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, where he instructs undergraduate and graduate students in forensic science.
Dr. DiZinno is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
