4 to share $230M Navy IDIQ for command and control
GDIT, Scientific Research Corp., SAIC and Concurrent Technologies will assess and test C4ISR systems at Charleston, S.C., facility.
General Dynamics Information Technology announced Tuesday that it is one of four contractors competing for task orders under a five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity Navy contract that has a potential value of $230 million to all four awardees.
The other three contractors, according to the Defense Department website, are Scientific Research Corp., Science Applications International Corp. and Concurrent Technologies Corp. The companies will compete for work assisting the Naval Networking and Joint Base Services for U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C.
Under this contract, the companies will analyze a variety of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and perform technology research and testing to evaluate system transportability and durability, as well as assist the DOD in developing and maintaining integrated communications systems, the May 22 company announcement said.
The services are available to all commands covered under the DOD Joint Basing agreement, including the Navy and other DOD and non-DOD activities.
U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic is one of three major Navy Department acquisition commands, delivering high-end information technology products and services to naval fleets and other DOD components at sea, on land and in the air.
General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors. SAIC is ranked No. 6, Concurrent is ranked No. 83, and Scientific Research is ranked No. 76.
