GD wins offshore energy management pact
General Dynamics will help manage oil and gas development for Interior Department.
General Dynamics Corp.’s IT business will help the Interior Department manage its offshore oil and gas development.
The company will be supporting the Safety and Environmental Enforcement Bureau’s Offshore Energy and Minerals Management program under a $26.2 million contract.
The program manages about 1.7 billion acres of the outer continental shelf, of which about 43 million acres are leased to private industry for energy development.
GD’s role will be to provide infrastructure and applications, including new applications, systems integration, infrastructure and operations support and project management. The company has worked on the program for the last seven years.
The company is ranked No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
