TASC tasks ex-CIA official with advancing technology business

TASC has named former senior CIA official Bob Silsby vice president of its Business and Technology Office.

TASC Inc. has named Bob Silsby vice president of its Business and Technology Office, which connects TASC customers to the technologies best suited for their missions.

He joins TASC from the CIA, where he was a senior intelligence officer in the National Reconnaissance Office, serving most recently as technical director and chief executive of the NRO Ground Enterprise Directorate, according to the Sept. 21 TASC announcement.

While at NRO, Silsby oversaw the formation and execution of policies, strategies, system engineering, acquisition and maintenance related to satellite command and control, mission planning and scheduling, data processing, infrastructure and dissemination functions.

He also provided leadership to government agencies and industry in transitioning to an architecture designed to integrate the global intelligence community.

Silsby earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the Catholic University of America and attended Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
