Savi names its first senior VP and chief marketing officer

Savi Technology Inc. has hired William Clark, formerly of Deltek Inc., for the newly created position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Clark comes from enterprise software provider Deltek Inc., where as executive vice president and CMO he contributed significantly to major revenue growth that led to a successful IPO in 2007, according to a Savi Technology announcement dated Aug. 26.

At Savi Technology he will be responsible for the full spectrum of marketing functions, including market and product strategies, go-to-market activities, branding, communications, analyst relations, public relations, and demand generation,

Clark also will oversee Savi’s efforts to define, develop and lead market-driven growth strategies in all of the company’s worldwide business segments.

Clark has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of sales and marketing roles in the technology market, including more than 12 years as a CMO and executive officer of software companies both in Silicon Valley and on the East Coast.

Before coming to Deltek, Clark was vice president of world product marketing at Novell Inc. Before that he was executive vice president and CMO at Mantas Inc.

Earlier in his career, Clark was vice president of corporate technology at J.P. Morgan & Co. Inc. and also held a succession of increasingly responsible positions in sales, marketing and management at IBM Corp.

Founded in 1989, Savi Technology, of Alexandria, Va., has offices in Mountain View, Calif.; Lexington, Ky.; London; Singapore and Melbourne, Australia.

Savi Technology is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, which acquired the company in 2006.
