NARA's chief information officer to retire
As CIO, Martha Morphy oversees deployment of the initial parts of NARA's $550 million Electronic Records Archives system. Her retirement is effective July 2.
The National Archives and Records Administration’s chief information officer will retire in the near future, the agency announced today.
Martha Morphy's retirement from the CIO position will be effective July 2, David Ferriero, the head of NARA, said in a statement. Deputy CIO Charles Piercy will serve as acting CIO until a permanent replacement is named.
As CIO, Morphy oversees the deployment of initial parts of NARA’s $550 million Electronic Records Archives system meant to preserve and provide long-term access to the government’s electronic records. Work on that program is ongoing.
