Apptis renames value-added reseller division

Apptis renames its reseller unit to distinguish it from the company's systems integration business.

Apptis Inc. has renamed its value-added reseller business, Apptis Technology Solutions, and is now calling the division Iron Bow Technologies.

Apptis wants to more clearly distinguish the reseller business from its systems integration business, which will continue to operate under the Apptis name, the company said.

Apptis has its roots in the reseller world, but began remaking itself several years ago through acquisitions and organic growth to become more of a services company.

Iron Bow will continue the reseller tradition with an emphasis on network infrastructure, communications, data center infrastructure and unified computing, the company said.

“As the federal IT marketplace enters a new decade, we are seeing a renewed emphasis on agility, flexibility and responsiveness, and this is precisely what Iron Bow will represent,” said Rene LaVigne, president and chief executive officer of Iron Bow.

Iron Bow’s major customers include the IRS, Army and Air Force. The company represents manufacturers such as Cisco Systems, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, EMC, NetApp, VMware, Tandberg and Polycom.
