Alion Science and Technology Corp. has won a $2.8 million award to upgrade a system it developed for the Defense Department to collect critical information on threat vulnerabilities.
Alion Science and Technology Corp. has won a $2.8 million award to upgrade a system it developed for the Defense Department to collect critical information on threat vulnerabilities.
The task order calls for enhancing and supporting the Alion-developed secure, automated system that DOD Operations Security (OPSEC) personnel use to collect, analyze and collaborate on critical information, vulnerabilities and threats.
Alion will address a common challenge facing all OPSEC decision-makers: To standardize their assessments and analyses and provide U.S. military forces with accurate data on force vulnerability and decrease the risk associated with the disclosure of such information.
To improve situational awareness, Alion has developed the Operations Security Collaboration Architecture (OSCAR), a secure, automated and standardized risk and vulnerability management program.
OSCAR aids OPSEC officers, assessors and analysts in the selection of appropriate countermeasures to meet the military leadership’s risk-level expectations. Based on analysis of OPSEC data, countermeasures can be implemented to eliminate or reduce the risk associated with exploited information.
The task order was awarded through the Navy Information Operations Command under the Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center contract vehicle.
