GSA issues sources-sought notice for managed hosting

The General Services Administration wants input from large and small companies capable of providing managed hosting services that would support automated federal acquisition.

In a sources-sought notice issued May 14, GSA said it needs information on industry capabilities regarding hosting services that would be used to consolidate its Integrated Acquisition Environment portfolio at one location. The system comprises nine applications that facilitate federal procurement transactions.

GSA wants to gauge the ability of industry to provide a facility from which the agency could receive secure and reliable managed hosting services.

Among the requirements for the future procurement are management and operation of a company-owned secure hosting facility, dedicated servers or utility computing hardware, trusted Internet connections, infrastructure administration, maintenance and support, IT service strategy, and program and project management.

Companies that respond to the notice should describe in detail their capabilities and experience in supplying managed hosting services. Responses are due by June 25.
