DISA issues sources-sought notice for software

The Defense Information Systems Agency is requesting information from contractors capable of providing and maintaining command and control software.

In a sources-sought notice issued March 9, DISA asked contractors to submit their qualifications for developing, fielding and sustaining software for the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System.

DISA’s Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Program Management Office wants the software products to help fulfill its mission of providing top Defense Department officials and high-level commanders with an integrated picture of the battle space when they are conducting joint and multinational operations.

The GCCS-J initiative is being implemented using spiral development in which design and prototyping are combined in stages to maintain a high level of quality assurance. The ultimate objective of the initiative is to fuse select command and control capabilities into a comprehensive, interoperable system that draws on imagery, intelligence, force status and various other planning information.

Responses are due March 23.
