Alion to assist Air National Guard with simulation technology

Alion Science and Technology Corp. will help provide realistic, interactive theater training environments for the Air National Guard under a new contract worth $1.9 million.

The Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center, which Alion operates, awarded the contract. The company will provide modeling and simulation support to manage the Air National Guard’s Expert Common Immersive Theater Environment software, company officials said.

The software powers the Air National Guard’s Distributed Training Operations Center, where aircrew members and soldiers receive training.

The Modeling and Simulation Information Analysis Center will evaluate the software and deliver a new version that provides higher levels of environment and threat replication. The work will include software development, configuration management, standards compliance and validation/verification, the officials said.
