TechTeam to build portals for agriculture news

TechTeam Government Solutions Inc. will design and build three Web portals for the Agriculture Department under a five-year award worth $1.8 million.

Under terms of the awards announced last week, TechTeam Government Solutions will create portals for the Agricultural Marketing Service's Poultry Market News, Dairy Market News and Cotton Market News.

Each news site offers current and historic pricing and movement information for individual agricultural commodities, news releases, currency conversion tools and agricultural weather information. It is estimated that 3,000 USDA customers access the Market News sites on a daily basis to get the latest reports and market information.

The work follows TechTeam's contract for requirements analysis, design and pricing for the portals, awarded in July 2007. The company previously built portals for USDA's Fruit and Vegetable Market News and Livestock and Grain Market News sites.
