ICx to upgrade Army chemical sensors

ICx Technologies Inc. will upgrade chemical sensors for the Army under a contract potentially worth $711 million over seven years.

Under the contract, ICx, of Arlington, Va., will provide systems engineering, analysis and integration for the Army Research and Development Engineering Command's Acquisition Center. The work is part of the Army's Joint Nuclear Biological Chemical Reconnaissance System Increment II program.

The joint program is vital, "and we've assembled a highly qualified team of experienced subcontractors," Hans Kobler, ICx's chief executive officer, said in a news release. The subcontractors were not named in the announcement.

The award is the company's largest federal contract to date, company officials said.
