Harris to support NGA geospatial intelligence

Harris Corp. will help improve distribution of geospatial intelligence at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency under a $140 million task order.

The task order was awarded under the NGA's five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for Applied Information Technology Solutions.

Under the task order, Harris will help enhance access to the NGA's geospatial data and services. It also will continue to provide assistance with NGA imagery access and retrieval, such as the Web-based Access and Retrieval Portal.

"Harris will provide the core IT and integration services that NGA needs to make a successful transition to a modern Infrastructure Service Provider and Application Service Provider environment," Sheldon Fox, president of Harris National Intelligence Programs, said in a news release. Harris will assist NGA in implementing the new ISP/ASP model, he said.

Harris, of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
