Air Force seeks cyber engineering assistance

The Air Force is looking for contractors with the qualifications needed to support multiple initiatives under way at the Global Cyberspace Integration Center.

In a sources-sought notice published Oct. 2, the Air Force Research Laboratory-Rome Research Site said interested contractors should be able to develop prototype software that can assess and assist in cyber, command-and-control and concept of operations requirements.

The scope of work is expected to include requirements and technical analysis, feasibility studies, systems design and engineering, and hardware and software demonstration. Other needs include network-centric communications and development efforts, rapid prototyping, and capability test and assessment.

The Global Cyberspace Integration Center collaborates with the Air Force Research Laboratory and other Air Force and national laboratories to identify advanced technologies and assess and test new capabilities and emerging technologies for cyber and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

The Air Force tentatively plans a five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract worth as much as $49.9 million, according to the announcement. Responses are due Oct. 23.
