New firm targets federal information assurance opportunities

Find opportunities — and win them.

Industry veterans Jim Gerretson and Tom Loveland have partnered to establish Gerretson LLC, which will provide information assurance services to the federal government.

Jim Gerretson, an industry executive who specializes in information assurance, and Tom Loveland, chief executive officer of Mind Over Machines Inc., have partnered to establish Gerretson LLC. The firm, which will be based in Laurel, Md., will provide information assurance services to federal intelligence and civilian agencies.

The service-disabled-veteran-owned small business will fuse Gerretson's more than 25 years of industry experience with Mind Over Machines' resources to supply information assurance, software development and network operations to targeted federal customers, according to a Sept. 9 news release.

Gerretson, a Navy veteran, will serve as the company's CEO. He has built information assurance practices at contractors such as Perot Systems, Lockheed Martin Corp. and Computer Sciences Corp.

Loveland will serve as Gerretson LLC's president while continuing to run Mind Over Machines, which holds a minority stake in the new company and plans to partner with it on select projects.
