NASA issues RFI for infrastructure program
NASA has issued an RFI to get feedback on the scope, schedule, technical requirements and procurement approach for its Information Technology Infrastructure Improvement Program.
NASA has issued a request for information asking contractors about the acquisition approach it should take for its Information Technology Infrastructure Improvement Program (I3P).
The Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., which will manage the procurement, wants industry input on the NASA Integrated Communications Services (NICS) and Enterprise Applications Service Technologies (EAST) contracts, according to an Aug. 26 notice posted on the FedBizOpps Web site.
Those services are currently provided under the Unified NASA Information Technology Services, Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA and other contracts.
The scope of work for the NICS contract involves network, voice, voice over IP, video, data, collaboration, and video and voice teleconferencing services. The EAST contract includes supporting existing operational applications and systems and improving and adding to those applications.
NASA wants contractors to submit feedback on the scope, schedule, technical requirements and procurement approach by Sept. 12. Comments should be no more than 25 pages long for each of the acquisitions.
Agency officials plan to issue draft performance work statements by Sept. 30, followed by one-on-one industry meetings Oct. 6-10. The draft request for proposals is tentatively scheduled for release Nov. 20, with a final RFP planned for Jan. 7, 2009.
