CACI answers the call for Army Force Management System

CACI International Inc. will help modernize the information technology that supports the Army Force Management System under a $26 million task order, the company said.

The five-year award was made under CACI's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services contract vehicle with the Army.

CACI will provide operations, maintenance and enhancement support, which is primarily new work, but the task order also includes the continuation of several tasks currently being performed for the client.

The Army Force Management system documents and authorizes the personnel and equipment resources required to for Army operations.

CACI will assist in modernizing the IT system while also maintaining the legacy applications until they are fully integrated into the Force Management System.
The modernized system will improve efficiency, speed data-exchange with Army and other Defense Department systems, and improve business processes. CACI's role includes software development and information assurance.

Paul Cofoni, CACI president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

CACI, based in Arlington, Va., has 12,000 employees and ranked No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
