SentrySafe, a provider of security-storage containers,has introduced a new fire-resistant and waterproofhard drive designed to withstand temperaturesof 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit.The 250G FIRE-SAFE/Waterproof Hard Drive isbuilt to protect data from fire and water disastersand computer crashes. SentrySafe partnered withMaxtor Storage Solutions to develop the drive.The SentrySafe FIRE-SAFE/Waterproof Hard Drivemodel QA0005 contains the Maxtor OneTouch 4Mini hard drive. It includes software protectiontools, such as data encryption and Maxtor'sSafetyDrill software, a bare metal system restore.The hard drive is encased in a SentrySafe FIRESAFE/Waterproof enclosure, protecting data fromfire and water. It is also third-party ETL-verified forfire protection for 30 minutes at 1,550 degreesFahrenheit and ETL-verified waterproof ? meaning itis fully submersible in water for as long as 24 hours.Mercury Computer Systems Inc., a provider of highperformance,embedded computing solutions forcomplex image, sensor and signal processing applications,has introduced a new gateway designed forsophisticated sensor technologies.The SR-110 10GE VXS Gateway is built to maximizethe effectiveness of systems by using 10Gigabit Ethernet for fast and flexible image/datadistribution, from any sensor to any authorized user.The gateway from Mercury automatically transportsthe network data into the VXS chassis, whichin turn streams the data into the serial RapidIOfabric, making the data available to all VXS computernodes. After user application computationsare complete, the data is transported out of thesystem via the gateway to the 10GE network.The SR-110 10GE VXS Gateway self-boots whenpowering up and allows the user to configure it.No other programming or user intervention isrequired to enable high-bandwidth data streamsinto and out of the gateway.
