Harris to deliver tactical radios to Poland

Harris Corp. will furnish tactical radios to the Polish Ministry of Defense under a newly awarded contract worth $15 million.

Under the contract, Harris will supply Falcon II manpack radios, vehicular installation kits, and accessories and spare parts for that country's armed forces, the company said. The work is being done as part of Poland's Combat Net Radio program.

The contract is part of an ongoing standardization of RF-5800H and RF-5800M radios for the Polish military, said Ed Lockwood, vice president of sales, International Government Systems, Harris RF Communications.

The Harris radios "will allow Polish peacekeepers to use state-of-the-art tactical communications systems to complete their mission in deployed areas," he said.

Harris, based in Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
