DRC extends Ohio child welfare job

Find opportunities — and win them.

Dynamics Research Corp. won a contract extension from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services to provide additional work for Ohio's Statewide Child Welfare Information System project.

Dynamics Research Corp. won a $12.7 million contract extension from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services to provide additional work for Ohio's Statewide Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) project. The extension runs through June 2009.

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services and the state's 88 county child welfare agencies joined forces with DRC in converting data from the six metro counties for the project. The department's older system that held data from 82 county agencies was also converted.

Under this amendment, DRC, of Andover, Mass., will provide operational and management support and maintenance of SACWIS through the extended project performance period and complete the rollout of SACWIS to all 88 Ohio counties.

DRC was awarded the original SACWIS contract in May 2004, which was worth as much as $30 million. DRC agreed to develop and implement the Web-based, statewide automated child welfare information system.

The new statewide system will provide a centralized database for use by state and county officials to track children in their care and make informed decisions that will help protect the children and provide needed services to their families.
