Northrop to support Medicare beneficiary system

Northrop Grumman Information Technology will provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with software support and other services under a new task order.

Northrop Grumman Information Technology will provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services with software support and other services under a $36.5 million task order.

Under the terms of the agreement, Northrop Grumman IT, of McLean, Va., will furnish software support for the Medicare Beneficiary Database suite of systems. The company also will be responsible for system enhancements and maintenance. The one-year contract has four option years.

The Medicare beneficiary suite is a collection of individual software applications and services that offer a single source for Medicare beneficiary demographic data.

The company will perform the work in Woodlawn, Md.

Northrop Grumman IT is a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp., of Los Angeles. The parent company ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
