Three to tackle FBI technology refresh
GTSI, Apptis and Intelligent Decisions have won a technology infrastructure award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation worth up to $290 million.
Three contractors have won a technology infrastructure award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation worth up to $290 million over five years.
The winners are GTSI Corp., Apptis Inc. and Intelligent Decisions Inc. GTSI and Apptis are based in Chantilly, Va., and Intelligent Decisions Inc. is headquartered in Ashburn, Va.
Known as the Technology Refresh Program, the contract has one base year and four option years.
Under the contract, the companies will upgrade information technology infrastructure and enterprise computing equipment at FBI headquarters and field offices, and allow for improved and advanced technology acquisition by FBI organizations.
Using the Technology Refresh Program, the FBI plans to modernize 20 percent of its IT hardware annually.
The program establishes a "standard technology refresh" for IT products in use in the bureau's top secret, secret and unclassified enclaves. The contract prevents obsolescence by enabling the Information Technology Operations Division to identify, schedule and refresh operational IT hardware.
GTSI ranks No. 37 and Apptis ranks No. 44 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
