Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Amyx was founded by Cheryl Amyx, who willcontinue in a senior leadership position.IBM Corp. is buying Burlington, Mass.-basedAptSoft Corp. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.The acquisition of the developer of businessevent processing software, which helps organizationsidentify patterns and establish connectionsbetween events, expands IBM's service-orientedarchitecture portfolio.ICF International plans to buy Jones and StokesAssociates Inc., an integrated planning andresource management firm, for about $50 million.The companies expect to close the deal inFebruary.Sacramento, Calif.-based Jones and Stokes specializesin transportation, water, energy and naturalresource management.Sun Microsystems Inc. is buying open-source databasevendor MySQL AB for $800 million cash andwill assume $200 million in options for theSwedish company.MySQL offers a free, open-source version of itsnamesake relational database management system,in addition to a commercial package, MySQLEnterprise.Oracle Corp. is buying BEA Systems Inc., of SanJose, Calif., for $8.5 billion. BEA's products andtechnology will extend Oracle's Fusion middlewaresuite, company officials said.Organizations running applications from eithercompany should find it easy to integrate the newofferings, they added.
