CSC's CFO resigns; opts not to move to Falls Church

Michael Keane, vice president and chief financial officer at Computer Sciences Corp., has resigned as CFO rather than move from El Segundo, Calif., to the corporation's new headquarters in Falls Church, Va.

Keane will remain a vice president during the transition period, which is expected to last into the summer.

"After carefully considering the company's upcoming move of its corporate headquarters and my alternatives, I have decided not to relocate," Keane said in a statement.

Keane, 52, joined the company as vice president of finance in 2005, and was soon promoted to vice president and CFO. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer at Unova Inc., an industrial technology company.

The CSC board of directors has appointed Donald DeBuck vice president and controller. He will also act as interim CFO during the executive search to replace Keane.

The consolidation to Northern Virginia "is without a doubt the right move to power CSC's accelerated growth and expansion," Michael Laphen, CSC chairman, president and chief executive, said in announcing the move this week. He said CSC would retain a presence in El Segundo.

CSC ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
