AF stays with Booz Allen for virtual combat

Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., of McLean, Va., will continue supporting the Air Force's Virtual Combat Environment for Electronic Conflict program under a new $18.6 million contract, the Defense Department announced this week.

Under the terms of the contract, Booz Allen will help the Air Force develop a virtual combat environment that enables the design and development of advanced electronic warfare, cyberspace and information operations technologies, DOD said.

The program encompasses a number of other objectives, including the evaluation and demonstration of new sensor technologies, layered sensing and battle management techniques, and identification of game-changing disruptive technologies.

The Air Force Research Laboratory's Wright Research Site, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity for the project.

Booz Allen, based in McLean, Va., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
