SGIS wins Army training support award

SGIS has won a $14.5 million Artillery and Chemical Training Life Cycle Contractor Support award from the Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.

SGIS will provide simulator operation, maintenance and logistical support at several Army bases in the United States, South Korea and Germany. The work includes engineering, repairs, equipment, testing, logistics and clerical assistance as needed.

The scope of the five-year award includes all labor, materials and consumables, tools and test equipment. It also calls for SGIS to provide supply support, maintenance and repairs, installation and de-installation, as well as engineering modifications, transportation and any relocation necessary to maintain simulators and simulations in operational condition.

SGIS also will supply a commercial, open-format, real-time management information system to collect, store and manage all operations information.

The company will perform the work at Fort Sill, Okla.; Fort Bragg, N.C.; Redstone Arsenal, Ala.; Fort Bliss, Texas; and Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

SGIS's subcontractor, Pulau Electronics Corp. of Orlando, Fla., will provide on-site labor and procurement support.

SGIS supports critical services for the Defense Department, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
