KBR Inc. has created three new business units ? Technology, Downstream and Services ? to target the latest market trends and named a trio of executives to lead them.

The new units ? Technology, Downstream and Services ? are designed to maximize future business opportunities, KBR said.
Tim Challand has been named president of the Technology unit, charged with overseeing the company's portfolio of intellectual property assets. The unit will also seek acquisitions and develop new technologies and applications in the hydrocarbon value chain.
John Quinn, currently chief executive officer of M. W. Kellogg Ltd., KBR's subsidiary in Greenford, England, has been appointed president of Downstream. The unit will oversee business development and projects in the hydrocarbon market.
David Zimmerman, currently senior vice president of engineering, procurement, construction and services, is now president of the Services unit, which encompasses KBR's industrial and maintenance services businesses, North American construction and Canadian fabrication operations.
The announcement follows the recent appointments of John Rose as president of the Upstream unit and Bruce Stanski as president of the Government and Infrastructure unit.
The company said the realignment will provide an organizational framework that best aligns KBR's operations with the company's current and mid-term market opportunities.
KBR of Houston provides engineering, construction and government services. The company ranks No. 4 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
