EDS to modernize Ky. tax system
Electronic Data Systems has won a contract from the commonwealth of Kentucky to develop an automated tax system.
Electronic Data Systems Corp. has won a three-year contract from the commonwealth of Kentucky to develop an automated tax system.
The contract is valued at $23.4 million for the first three years, and can be extended for two more years for a total value of $33.2 million.
The proposed Kentucky Comprehensive Tax System will automate tax administration and collections for Kentucky's Department of Revenue, Finance and Administration Cabinet. It also will enable taxpayers update personal data and file returns online.
To develop the system, EDS will use tax software from Oracle. CGI Group and Exstream Software also will work on the project with EDS.
EDS of Plano, Texas, ranks No. 10 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
