SRA names Brooks government affairs head
SRA International has hired Charles Brooks, a former legislative affairs director at DHS, as vice president in charge of government affairs.
SRA International Inc. has hired Charles Brooks, a former legislative affairs director at the Homeland Security Department, as vice president in charge of government affairs.
Brooks, who will report to SRA President and Chief Executive Officer Stan Sloane, will be the senior executive responsible for relations with federal agencies. He also will lead SRA's political action committee.
Brooks, who has more than 20 years of government and legislative experience, most recently was director of legislative affairs for the Homeland Security Department's Directorate of Science and Technology, where he was responsible for managing all congressional activities, including the budget authorization and appropriations process, hearings and legislative initiatives.
He also previously served as a senior legislative assistant to Sen. Arlen Specter (R.-Pa.).
SRA of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 33 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
