Northrop wins Army training contract

Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a five-year, $37 million contract from the Army's Northern Region Contracting Center to train warfighters at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

The Unit Training Support contract combines five former separately managed Army training contracts: Battle Command and Battle Staff Training and Integration Support, Battle Staff Mobile Training Team, Home Station Training Master Plan Support, Digital Training Strategy Support and Collective Task Management Support.

Under the award, Northrop will support current training programs and develop future force, capabilities and needed requirements and strategies. The company also will provide training management, support and integration for units, Army Training and Doctrine Command schools and centers and Army support of joint programs, as well as provide training products and support.

Northrop Grumman of Los Angeles ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
