Four grab Navy test and evaluation work

The Navy has chosen four contractors to support the Commander Naval Operational Test and Evaluation Force. The companies will conduct independent research and provide technical and analytical support under the deal.

The awardees are Alion Science and Technology Corp., Science Applications International Corp., Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems Corp. and Stanley Associates Inc.

The five-year contract could be worth as much as $115.5 million if all options are used.

The contractors' work will support the Navy's acquisition and fleet introduction decisions.

"This award further establishes Alion's support of the Navy's [test and evaluation] community," said Rod Riddick, Alion senior vice president and manager of the Integration Solutions Group.

The companies will perform the work at locations around the country. The contract also might require work on vessels at sea or at bases in other countries if conditions make that necessary.
