Robbins-Gioia names O'Brien to head intel unit

Marie O'Brien has been named president of program management provider, Robbins-Gioia's newly created Intelligence Community Division.

O'Brien has more than 20 years of industry experience in providing technologies, systems and applications to the federal government and Fortune 500 companies, Robbins-Gioia's main client base for the past 25 years.

O'Brien previously worked briefly for ePOK Inc., a startup software company in the information-sharing environment. Before that, she was employed by Sun Microsystems Inc., a $13 billion global supplier of network computing solutions, as vice president for government sales. For more than 15 years at Sun, she held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and commercial and emerging markets.

"The intelligence community must continue to address the lack of integration and interoperability issues that can hinder vital communication," O'Brien said. "Our goal is to use program management to help these agencies align their strategic objectives to achieve a common platform and vision."

Robbins-Gioia is based in Alexandria, Va. Its federal clients include the Homeland Security Department, Army and the Defense Logistics Agency.
